| question. Maybe I'll just have to cast all my pieces and make a Dave Gingery mill and lathe setup. If I had it CNC machined by some place, it is going to cost a small fortune for a one-off part. Unfortunately I lack the financial resources to treat this as money is no object, but my reasons for casting was a simple solution to the problem of modifying the housing. Once I get the molding sand corrected I expect that I will have a finely finihed part that will only require very simple drilling and surfacing - I can easily do that here. Even though I am not finished yet, I have had fun researching the melting/casting process, building the refractory, and pouring liquid metal. :) .... and I dont intend to stop at just the water pump housing either. I need a new alternator bracket to mount the larger 240A unit I will be purchasing soon. Aluminum will work fine and it will replace a heavy cast iron OEM piece. I have a few interior pieces I want to cast in aluminum. And I have many more reserved ideas as well; some applying to the Z and others not. ..... because it is thoroughly enjoyable...
